It’s officially pool time!

I’ve been talking about it for a few months now … and it’s finally here. You’re reading our 4th Annual Swimsuit Issue! Our magazine debuted in 2007 with the Swimsuit Issue, and it quickly became one of our most popular and anticipated issues. One of the reasons is because, since the beginning, we’ve used only “real people” (whatever that means).

Dallas. Phoenix. Seattle. They’ve all hosted Compete’s annual photo shoot for our special Swimsuit Issue. But for something completely different this year, we went to Sin City to meet up with some members of its gay sports community. (We also brought a couple of folks with us from Phoenix, for good measure.) The result: we’ve got the most original photos yet, with some truly unique backdrops.

This is the month we’ve waited a LONG TIME for. Well, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but we are extremely pleased to introduce you to www.competemag.com - the sports Web site that is all about you.
David has been doing a lot of work the past few weeks readying our new site for its launch, and lo and behold, the Web site is now up and running.

Chicago & San Francisco Dominate the Boards

Thumbnail for Coady Roundball Classic article Three Chicago and two San Francisco teams took top honors at the 20th annual Coady Roundball Classic, the largest and longest-running gay basketball tournament in the world. The event, which serves as the National Gay Basketball Association's Championship Tournament, played host to a record 35 teams from more than 25 cities April 17-18 at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
