Bring on the Madness
It is hard to believe that winter is virtually behind us and the bounties of spring are quickly approaching. In fact, March means a lot to both of us. But, before we tell you why, we want to know what March means to you.
What does March mean to you?
A. A great month to beware the Ides of.
B. Half-priced green beer.
C. NCAA Basketball.
If you answered “C” you are with us. March is definitely college basketball month. In fact, you probably know it as “March Madness.” Introduced in 1939 by legendary basketball coach Phog Allen (who himself was mentored by James Naismith), the NCAA Division 1 basketball tournament is a single-elimination tournament that plays nationwide culminating in the very exciting finals known as the Final Four.
The fun starts March 16 and runs through April 4 with the Final Four being hosted at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. Eric’s first college, Butler University, is the proud Final Four host this year, which gives him something else to cheer about. So, as winter begins to retreat and spring approaches, grab your half-priced green beer and cheer on your favorite college team.
Oh, and if you fall asleep watching basketball like David, just tune to Fox Sports. They have plenty of soccer to keep you occupied until your significant other is basketballed-out and ready for bed.
Sincerely,
Eric Carlyle
