Back in December when we first started kicking around the idea of a gay hockey blog, we had no idea where the journey would take us. Partners for nearly 15 years, neither of us ever played hockey, but over the past few seasons we’ve developed a certain affinity for the game and a maniacal devotion to the home team, the Washington Capitals.
In just a few short months, PuckBuddys.com, the site “for boys who like boys who like hockey,” has found a nice audience, both gay and straight. Our blog quickly evolved from being primarily a showcase of shirtless players and beefcake, to one that covers other topics that rarely made the RADAR of Washington’s already robust hockey blogosphere. And while we still remain the go-to site for pictures of hot hockey players, we’ve also been recognized in the media for our mixture of satire, sass, and just as often, the serious.
