I don't know about you, but the past several days seem to have snuffed more athletes than I've ever seen before in such a short time.. I wonder
if there's some sort of rogue moon (Death Star?) knocking around the astrology charts. As evidence?

A) According to
FoxNews: Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death early Monday and his brother was arrested as a suspect, Dutch police said.Rotterdam Police spokeswoman Patricia Wessels said police were called to a home in the port city in the early hours of the morning and found the 24-year-old Dutch player bleeding from a stab wound.
B) Then on the college level- a death in Arkansas- NBCSports
reports:
While the details are very sketchy at this point in time, multiple media outlets are reporting that tight end Garrett Uekman was found dead in his dorm room Sunday morning. A team meeting was held this afternoon to inform the players of their 19-year-old teammate's death.

C) The Philadelphia Marathon claimed
two runners:
Authorities say two who ran in the Philadelphia Marathon collapsed during the race and died of apparent heart attacks.
Philadelphia police Officer Jillian Russell, a spokeswoman, says a 21-year-old man collapsed at the finish line. She says a 40-year-old man collapsed about a quarter-mile before the finish line
D) And at
Boston College - a dead lacrosse player:
University spokesman Jack Dunn says 20-year-old Michael Racanelli was found dead Monday in his Foster Street home.
Police say preliminary investigations have ruled out foul play. A medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death.
Racanelli was a sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences at Boston College.
He was reportedly recovering from a collarbone injury he suffered last month. Dunn declined to confirm those reports because of privacy laws.
E) And Coach Joe Paterno has
cancer:
Days after losing the job he held for nearly a half century, former Penn State coach Joe Paterno was diagnosed with a treatable form of lung cancer.:
