In the upcoming issue of Compete
you'll meet Stephany Lee, a member of the U.S. Olympic wrestling team heading to London this summer. What makes her story remarkable is
that Lee tied the knot in Iowa late last month after she made the Olympic team.
Now that Lee is officially a newlywed she might find it refreshing that Vice President Joe Biden approves of same-sex marriage.
Biden appeared on NBC's Meet the Press on May 6 and said " ... marriage should be about being loyal to someone you love, whether that marriage is between a man and a woman, two men or two women. I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men and women marrying one another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties ... "
Hopefully, both Lee's marriage and Biden's statement will have the same outcome—moving equality forward.
